The National Assembly held a plenary session on the 11th to handle the resignation of independent lawmaker Kwak Sang-do, who was accused of taking bribes from Hwacheon Daeyu.

The National Assembly is scheduled to hold a plenary session on the afternoon of the same day to deal with the resignation of Rep. Kwak and the motion to appoint Choi Jae-hae as the chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection. As the opposition and opposition parties agreed to deal with Kwak’s resignation, it is highly likely that it will be put on the agenda.

Rep. Kwak resigned from the power of the people and announced his resignation on the 2nd of last month after his son, who joined Hwacheon Daeyu through his own introduction, worked as a deputy level employee and received 5 billion won in the name of severance pay.

If the resignation bill of Rep. Kwak is passed, it will be the fourth resignation case following former lawmakers Kim Jin-ae, Yoon Hee-sook, and Lee Nak-yeon in the 21st National Assembly.
