Many think that the Brazilian star Neymar is at the level of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, but Cafu, the former captain of the Brazil national team, went more than that, considering that Neymar is technically better than the Argentine and Portuguese stars and he just needs to take responsibility and be a leader like them.
Neymar left Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in search of becoming the first star in a club, but since then he has found the spotlight on Kylian Mbappe and even Messi himself followed him to the “Princes’ Garden”.
And due to his inability to achieve the potential that many saw as paving the way for him to win the Ballon d’Or, Neymar remains one of the best players in the modern era.
Cafu explained – in a press interview – that “one must devote himself 100% to football, I am not better than Neymar, but I am better than others who play at right-back because I have dedicated myself to that. (Neymar) must become a leader.”
Cafu wore during his career the shirts of great teams, led by Roma and Milan, in addition to winning the World Cup with his country, yet he admitted that he could have formed an exceptional partnership with his compatriot Roberto Carlos at the “Santiago Bernabeu”.
“I had the opportunity to play with Real Madrid in 1992, when I was playing with Sao Paulo and we had our first international competition at that time,” Cafu added.
