South African writer Wilbur Smith dies at 88

South African writer Wilbur Smith, whose best-selling books have been published, has died “unexpectedly” at the age of 88, his publisher said.

A message posted on the author’s official Twitter account on Saturday evening read: “We are sad to announce that beloved author Wilbur Smith, whose books have been a best seller in the world, died unexpectedly this afternoon at his home in Cape Town, with his wife Nessau at his side.” .
