Luxor – Mohamed Mahrous:
The Luxor Governorate authorities continued their efforts to drain the torrential waters that hit the Red Sea mountain ranges and reached the eastern desert road near the city of Thebes, north of Luxor.
The Drinking Water and Sanitation Company, in coordination and cooperation with Luxor Governorate and the New Tiba City Authority, pushed sweeping cars to suction the accumulated water on the road, and partially opened the eastern desert road between Luxor and Qena.
On Saturday evening, Luxor Governorate was hit by a dust storm, which reduced visibility and halted river traffic in the governorate.
For its part, Luxor Governorate declared a state of emergency to counter the bad effects of the dust storm and in anticipation of other sudden changes in the weather.
