Washington – (USA):
Today, Friday, the US Food and Drug Administration announced that it has approved the use of the booster doses of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines for all adults in the United States.
The New York Times reported that the announcement fulfills an important part of US President Joe Biden’s administration’s plan to give additional doses to the general public at a time when growing data shows that the effectiveness of vaccines wanes over time.
The approval comes about two months late after scientists who advised the Food and Drug Administration rejected the administration’s original plans to start distributing the booster dose to all adults on September 20, citing a lack of data to support the effectiveness of the third dose.
