The Electricity Utility and Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency announced that there is no difference in the accounting system for electricity segments in different meters; Whether it is old or new, “prepaid – smart”, stressing that the prices of electricity segments, whether for the home, commercial or other types of consumers, are considered the same regardless of the type of meter.

The agency pointed out, in a statement today, Saturday, that the support for the eligible segments of the subsidy is the same in all the counters; Whether it is traditional or prepaid, pointing to the difference in the price of the segment for the home sector from the commercial sector.

The device explained that the billing price of the chip for the domestic sector differs from the commercial sector, and the price of the chip for the industrial sector and public utilities also differs, not according to the type of meter.

Since last July, the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy has approved the new increase in consumption segments for the new fiscal year 2022/2021, which electricity distribution companies at the level of all governorates of the Republic began implementing at the beginning of last July for prepaid meters, and on the first of August for bills of consumption of traditional meters in homes; Which:

The first bracket is from zero to 50 kilowatts, 48 ​​piasters.

The second bracket, from 51 to 100 kilowatts, is 58 piasters.

The third tranche “from zero to 200 kilowatts” is 77 piasters.

The fourth bracket, from 201 to 350 kilowatts, is 106 piasters.

The fifth tranche from 351 to 650 kilowatts is 128 piasters.

The sixth tranche “from 651 to a thousand kilowatts” is 140 piasters.

The seventh tranche “from zero to less than 1000 kilowatts” is 128 piasters.
