Al-Qaseer, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, revealed several decisions related to the production control process issued by companies producing nitrogenous fertilizers, explaining that a special mark was issued on the subsidized sack and that it was not sold or traded in the free market or the black market.

Al-Qusayr said in a special statement he made to “Masrawy”, today, Saturday, that the price of the sack rose from 164.5 “urea” and 159.5 “nitrates” to 225 pounds per sack.

Dr. Abbas El-Shennawy, Head of the Agricultural Services Sector, confirmed that the process of controlling the produced quantities starts from the factory to the association, through serial codes and an inventory process for the quantities received for each association according to the established quota, adding that committees have been formed to discuss farmers’ complaints regarding the availability of fertilizers or the pricing specified by by the state.

Al-Shennawi explained, in a special statement he made to “Masrawy”, that continuous inspection teams have been formed in all governorates, pointing out that the heads of associations have been assigned to distribute the fertilizers according to the report of the actual inspection of the land, and that the fertilizers reach the tenants who cultivate the land and not the owner who The land is not cultivated based on the actual inspection report.

The head of the agricultural services sector referred to the permanent examination of fertilizers’ records and the incoming and distributed balance and their matching with the balance in stores, adding that the ministry receives farmers’ complaints about fertilizers on the hotline No. 15500 or 19561.

The Ministry of Agriculture issued a decision last Thursday, after the approval of the Council of Ministers, to raise the price of a ton of fertilizers from 3,000 pounds to 4,500 pounds per ton, as a result of the high cost of gas globally.
