Riyadh- (DPA):

The Arab coalition in Yemen announced in the early hours of Wednesday morning that it had destroyed two warehouses for drones in the Dabouh camp in the Sanhan district, south of the Yemeni capital, Sanaa.

The coalition, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, said, “We have carried out air strikes on legitimate military targets in response to the threat of drones from Sanaa.”

And the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), through a series of tweets on its Twitter account, quoted the coalition: “We have taken preventive measures to spare civilians and civilian objects from collateral damage.”

The Arab coalition had announced earlier today the start of air strikes on Sanaa, and said that it had asked civilians not to gather or approach the targeted sites.

“The operation is in line with international humanitarian law and its customary rules,” he added.

This came after the coalition announced the interception and destruction of a drone in Yemeni airspace that was launched towards the Kingdom.

The coalition said, in a statement on Tuesday evening, that “the drone was launched from the capital, Sanaa, to target civilians in Saudi Arabia,” noting that attempts to target civilians “require an immediate response to deal with the sources of the threat.”
