The Board of Directors of the General Federation of Egyptian Trade Unions, headed by Gebali Al-Maraghi, mourned the martyr of work and the injured, as a result of the accident of the El-Nasr Spinning and Weaving Company in El-Mahalla El-Kubra, after the roof collapsed in one of the textile halls, yesterday.
This came against the backdrop of the collapse of the roof of one of the company’s wards, during the shift out yesterday, which resulted in the injury of 6 workers, 5 of whom were discharged after providing medical care.
In a statement today, Tuesday, the Federation offered its condolences to the family of the labor martyr, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
The Union praised the position of the General Syndicate of Spinning and Weaving in following up on the repercussions of the accident and disbursing urgent subsidies to the victims, whether the deceased or the injured, calling on the concerned authorities to quickly investigate the accident and find out the causes and work not to repeat it.
The village of Al-Dawakhliya, affiliated to Al-Mahalla Center in Gharbia Governorate, witnessed the funeral of the worker “Mr. Shaaban” at seven in the morning, the victim of the collapse of the ceiling of the dormitory of the Al-Nasr Spinning Company factory in Mahalla, in a funeral scene in which hundreds of fellow workers participated until his final resting place and was buried in his family’s graves.
The Civil Protection forces had succeeded in recovering the body of the young victim, after the work of removing the rubble and searching for more than 6 continuous hours until his location was determined.
The names of the victims and injured in the factory collapse accident were: Ashour Al-Sayed Ali, a worker with a fractured skull, Ibrahim Allam Faraj Al-Sheikh with bruises on the left arm, and Muhammad Ahmed Abdel-Qader, a worker with a bruise in the head, Muhammad Ahmad Al-Sayed Ghoneim, a worker with a bruised head, and Mahmoud Al-Shishtawi Mahmoud Nassar, an injured worker with concussion and suspected fracture. Skull while the search is underway for Mr. Shaaban Noman, a missing worker under the rubble.
