From the 6th, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will start to pay the second stage of the COVID-19 quarantine support to small businesses. The second payment target is 2.48 million small businesses who received disaster aid last year or suffered indirect damage from COVID-19. They can also receive quarantine subsidies without supporting documents.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 5th, “The 2.45 million companies that received support funds plus and Hope Recovery Fund, which are disaster subsidies for small businesses, will receive 1 million won in quarantine support from the 6th.” Among them, 40,000 accommodation companies, 10,000 travel companies, and 140,000 hairdressing/beauty companies, which were indirectly affected by COVID-19, were included. However, 35,000 co-representative companies plan to pay after separately confirming the co-representative power of attorney, etc.
Among the small business owners who have been subject to restrictions on business hours, about 30,000 operators of many single-managed businesses, who were excluded from the first payment last time, are also targeted. For many single-managed businesses, up to four (4 million won) payments are made.
Small business owners who have been subject to business hours restrictions since December 18 of last year, who need to receive separate confirmation from the local government, are subject to the third payment starting on the 17th. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups will receive the list of companies that have received the confirmation of implementation of the administrative order from each city, county, and gu from the local government, and then select the target of support after verification.
From the 24th, the fourth payment will start for small businesses whose sales in November last year decreased compared to the same month in 2019 or 2020. The 5th payment to joint representative businesses excluded from the previous round and to those who started after July last year is scheduled to start on the 10th of next month. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups explained, “We plan to implement additional payments sequentially by early February so that as many small businesses as possible can receive support quickly.”
Applications for the second payment can be made from the 6th. On the 6th, small business owners with an even number at the end of the business registration number can apply, and on the 7th, small business owners with odd numbers can apply. From 9 am on the 6th, a text message will be sent to the parties, and from the 8th, it will be possible to apply regardless of odds or odds.
Like the first payment, it is paid 5 times a day. If you apply by 6pm, the funds will be deposited on the same day. Multiple single-managed businesses can apply from the 10th. Small business owners who received the message can apply online at the dedicated website ‘Small Business Prevention Support Fund.kr’. You must prepare a mobile phone in your name or a joint certificate (in the case of a corporation, a joint certificate in the name of a corporation) required for identity authentication.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups previously selected about 700,000 small businesses and small business owners with limited business hours as the primary payment target, and started to provide quarantine support from December 27, last year, and announced that it had paid 1 million won to 672,000 people, or 95.8%, until the previous day.
