Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee delivered the first keynote speech at CES 2022, the world’s largest electronics and IT exhibition, on the 4th (local time). The CES keynote is a place where influential figures leading the IT industry and institutions present topics and directions. This year, starting with Han Vice President, 17 speakers and 19 special speakers will participate.

Vice Chairman Han said the importance of ‘coexistence’ in the era of the Ports Pandemic through a keynote delivered online and offline for about an hour at the Venetian Palazzo Ballroom in Las Vegas, USA. As Samsung Electronics’ blueprint, Vice Chairman Han presented technological innovation based on advanced connectivity and customized experiences beyond the existing business that focused on individual household appliances such as TVs, refrigerators and washing machines. Related software was also introduced, such as ‘Home Hub’ that connects various home appliances and services, ‘Bixby’ that allows voice control from anywhere in the house, and ‘SmartThings Hub’ that realizes a smart home environment without a separate Internet of Things (IoT) hub. . Samsung Electronics plans to launch the ‘HCA (Home Connectivity Alliance) council’ with global home appliance makers such as GE, Haier, Electrolux, Arcelic, and Train so that home appliances of various brands can be easily connected. The goal is to establish an IoT standard optimized for various brands of home appliances.

Vice Chairman Han vowed that Samsung Electronics would take the lead in efforts to protect the global environment. He said, “Samsung Electronics has been carrying out various activities to protect the environment, and this year, we plan to use 30 times more recycled plastic than the previous year in TV and other display products. will be used,” he declared. He also introduced a plan to cooperate with the eco-friendly outdoor brand ‘Patagonia’ to develop technologies to reduce microplastic emissions.

During the keynote speech, Vice Chairman Han entrusted the introduction of products aimed at the MZ generation (born in the 1980s and early 2000s) to the Samsung Electronics Future Generation Lab employees in their 20s. Future Generation Lab employees introduced ‘The Freestyle’, a projector that realizes screens at desired angles in various spaces, and ‘Odyssey Arc’, a display dedicated to next-generation games.
