The death of a member of the Council of Senior Scholars in Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Saleh Al-Luhaidan

This morning, Wednesday, a member of the Council of Senior Scholars in Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Saleh Muhammad Al-Luhaidan, died, after suffering from illness.

Al-Luhaidan’s family announced his death at dawn today, with a tweet on Twitter, in which she said, “We belong to God and to Him we shall return. May God bestow our condolences and the condolences of the Islamic nation on the death of our sheikh and father, Saleh bin Muhammad Al-Luhaidan.”

She explained that the funeral will be held on the body of the deceased today, after the afternoon prayer, at Al-Rajhi Hospital in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

Sheikh Al-Luhaidan was exposed to a health crisis a few weeks ago, after which he was admitted to the hospital.

Al-Luhaidan has held many positions in Saudi Arabia and has written many books.

The late Sheikh is a scholar of Sharia, an advocate, an imam and a preacher. He also held the position of President of the Supreme Judicial Council until 2009.

He was also a member of the Council of Senior Scholars since its establishment in 1971 and a member of the Muslim World League, and he has lessons in the Grand Mosque that are broadcast.
