His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria, Patriarch of the See of St. St. St. St., said that everyone participates in choosing the patriarch, through the passage of three stages of election, the first being through the parents’ choice of the patriarch and then the election by the citizens, and the final stage is through a child and this is considered the hand of God .

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II continued, during his interview with the media, Doria Sharaf El-Din, on the “Special Dialogue” program, broadcast on the Egyptian First Channel, on Friday evening, that he did not expect to be chosen as a patriarch and did not seek to do so because it is a great responsibility, noting that the Holy Council chose 17 people and the choice was made. it at the end of it.

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II continued, that the Egyptian Church enjoys greater popularity in Egypt than at any time in the past, adding that serving the church is considered an assignment and not an honor for those who receive this title.

He added that he did not take the decision to become monastic once, despite his intention to become monastic since childhood, noting that the father in the church in Damanhour began guiding him until he entered the monastery in 1986.
