Bern – (dpa)

The Swiss Scientific Special Task Force expects that between 10 and 30% of the population will be infected with the Corona virus within a week, during the peak of the infection wave with the Omicron strain.

When the wave recedes, between 65 and 85 percent of the population will be immune or protected with the booster doses, Tanya Stadler, head of the Berne Special Task Force that advises the government, said on Tuesday.

The German mathematician and biostatistician, Stadler, expects that injuries will reach a peak within one to three weeks, and this will be reflected in the number of cases of hospitalization for between one and 10 days.

She added that in order to keep the economy, society and administration working, it is logical to reduce the quarantine period to five days for people in contact with infected people.
