Excavation works have started to replace and renew the drinking water network in some residential areas in Ras Sidr, South Sinai, as part of a plan to develop the city’s infrastructure and deliver clean water to citizens.
Engineer Hanan Omar, Head of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Sector in South Sinai, said that the water line in the Arab Abu Sweira area and the association’s land area is being changed from “asbestos” pipes to plastic lines, at a cost of 3 million and 850 thousand pounds, in order to preserve the health of citizens, especially that this network Delivered over 30 years ago.
The head of the drinking water sector said in a statement to “Masrawy” today, Saturday, that 4-inch pipes with a length of 4,000 meters are being installed, 6-inch pipes with a length of 3,000 meters, and 8-inch pipes with a length of 2500 meters, in addition to changing the valves inside the rooms with 4 valves in diameter. 10″ diameter valves, 10 6″ diameter valves, 5 8″ diameter valves, and 6 air valves.
She pointed out that the replacement and renewal of the drinking water network in 5 areas in Ras Sidr city, and part of the main line on the city’s facade, Abu Rezeq and Arab Abu Sweira areas, at a cost of more than 10 million pounds, has been completed.
